Kolb Grading began providing services in maintaining the plant’s fly ash pond in 2005. KG took the initiative to develop and implement a strategy to keep the plant operational and generate several hundred thousand cubic yards of fly ash used throughout the plant for various projects:

  • Created a Main Haul Road through the Pond with Bottom Ash
  • Installed Pipes to Allow Water Flow and Level Control
  • Created Deeper and Wider Channels; Excavated and Dried Fly Ash, and Its Weight Consolidated the Underlying Fly Ash
  • Excavated, Dried, Hauled and Placed Over 300,000 cy of Dry Fly Ash from Pond to Fills
  • Constructed a 53,000 ft Haul Road to Support Scrubber
  • Improvements 600,000 cy Excavated from Fly Ash Pond
