Across the 800-acre Lakeside (Park) 370 recreational and business park in St. Peters, Missouri, Kolb Grading was awarded several excavation and utility contracts, working with Swallowtail on the environmental plan. Kolb moved 6 million cubic yards of dirt to create a 140-acre lake in 12 months, placed 3 million cubic yards of fill for a 4-mile levee, graded building sites to tight tolerances, repaved 9,000 square yards of concrete road, built a reverse filter system with over 100,000 tons of shot rock and liner, and installed 100,000 feet of storm, sanitary, and water main.
Scope of Work
- 6 million cy excavation; 140-acre recreational lake
- Placed 3 million cy of fill to create a 4-mile levee
- Constructed building sites with finish grade to +/- 0.2
- Access roads constructed using 11,000 tons of crushed aggregate
- Demolished existing road, raised it, and repaved 9,000 sy of concrete
